Miss Mississippi Watermelon Queen, Kellie Johnson, stopped by WDAM to promote the Mize Watermelon Festival for WDAM'S Midday Show.

She was accompanied by Lorn Mcalpin who is making a documentary of Johnson promoting the festival for Mississippi Public Broadcast.

The Festival is July 20 from 6-10 p.m. and July 21 from 8-11 p.m. The festival is at the Mize Volunteer Fire Department. For more information call Terresa Stewart at 601-733-5647 or the Town of Mize at 601-733-2221.

Johnson began her role of Watermelon Queen in April.
