Local Hattiesburg residents are organizing a Be the Match bone marrow registry drive that will be held on the Ole Miss campus in Oxford, Feb. 5 & 6 at the Union plaza from 9-5.

Approximately 400 women took time Saturday to learn how to be healthier when they attended the 2013 Women’s Health Symposium at Pearl River Community College.

The symposium gave them free health screenings, a panel of five area physicians who answered questions about women’s health concerns and a rollicking keynote speech.

JCJC New Century Scholars/All-State American Team Representatives Selected

The following is a press release from Jones County Junior College:

Nine Jones County Junior College sophomores were recently nominated for Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s New Century Scholars/All-State American Team honors.  These students were selected because they maintained a 3.5 to 4.0 GPA, have taken challenging academic courses, have completed a minimum of 36 hours, are busy serving the community and college in various ways and did well in an interview with the scholarship committee.
