Darrah knows ‘once a Soldier, always a Soldier’ | People

Retired Col. James “Jim” T. Darrah, Jr. does not consider himself a real “civilian” because he believes, “Once a Soldier, always a Soldier.”

Darrah, often known simply as “Col. Jim,” works at the Mississippi Armed Forces Museum located at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center. He has been working as the collections manager since March 2000.

His job is to oversee the care of the collections in the museum in the areas of acquisition, conservation, preservation, accountability, storage, display, transportation, accession, disposal and retrieval of the artifacts.
