Time flies when you’re having fun. I started my military career here at Camp Shelby and I am so honored to have the opportunity to finish my career as the Installation Commander.

We often hear the phrase that the military is Family. I am here today to tell you that it is absolutely true. I look around and feel so very blessed to be a part of this magnificent
organization that has accomplished so much for so many in support of our Nation’s ongoing fight for freedom. Thank you for the opportunity to serve our Nation, State and
community as a distinguished member of the United States Armed Forces and the Mississippi Army National Guard.

The only thing constant is change and as we embrace change I want to congratulate Col. William “Brad” Smith as the incoming installation commander for Camp Shelby
Joint Forces Training Center. I know he will do a fantastic job and continue to set the standard as Camp Shelby drives forward with the work of a Premier Mobilization Station
ensuring our troops are trained and ready for their upcoming missions downrange.
