Forrest General’s Spirit of Women and Southern Miss Offer Football Fun at Football 101: Chalk Talk f | Community Spirit
Whether you love football or just enjoy the tailgating that goes with it, this event is for you! Forrest General Hospital’s Spirit of Women and the University of Southern Mississippi have hosted their annual “Football 101: Chalk Talk for Women” event for three years, and this year’s event promises even more fun! Kick the season off right at the fourth-annual “Football 101” on July 19 at 6 p.m. at Touchdown Terrace at The Rock on the campus of Southern Miss.
Join USM Head Football Coach Ellis Johnson and Fran Ginn, owner of the Back Door Café in Columbia, for an evening of food, fun and football! Learn more about Coach Johnson as he talks about the ins-and-outs of USM football and his plans for his first season with the Golden Eagles. Tired of asking your stadium neighbors questions about the big game? Take this opportunity and ask Coach himself! Get excited for pre-game festivities as Fran Ginn offers great Tailgating Tips, including delicious recipes and pointers for a perfect presentation. Also, start the season off in style by getting a first-hand look at the latest in Southern Miss fan apparel. All attendees will have a chance to run through the helmet tunnel (complete with fog!) used by the team for every home game and have a photo made with Coach Johnson. Tailgating food, the opportunity to purchase Southern Miss merchandise, a unique event t-shirt, meet-and-greet with the USM cheerleaders and Seymour, door prizes and more will contribute to make a winning event!
