Light the Track: Wesley Hosts Relay Event in Memory of Dr. Glenn Smith | Community Spirit
Dr. Smith served the Hattiesburg community as a physician for 27 years and served on the Board of Directors at Wesley Medical Center. He was board certified in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology and was a long-time sponsor of Relay for Life. Dr. Smith lost his battle with cancer on March 16. The Wesley “Light the Track” event honors his memory.
The goal of the event is to light up the grounds of Wesley Medical Center with hundreds of luminaries. The luminaries are for sale, at $10 each, in the Wesley customer service department and IWSM. On April 27, the luminaries will line the walking track at Wesley in tribute to Dr. Smith. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
